The day was a great success thanks to Chelsie and other organizers.

We can now add Nevada! These are the places where Jacob's art now hangs- 30 different states so far.  His goal is to hit all 50...  he also has art in Norway, England, France, Japan, Israel, Holland, Italy and Germany.  It is a big world, so he'll keep painting...

Jacob was invited to his alma mater, Greenwich Central School, as a presenter in the 20th Annual Greenwich Junior High "Career Fair" representing the field of art.  He had a great time and was inspired by the strong interest in the arts that many students exhibited as well as their perceptive questions.  It was a fun day...here are a couple of pictures.

One of Jacob's favorite places to eat is Steiningers on Main Street in Salem, NY where he gets to see his print, "Tasteful Steiningers" on the wall. His usual order is turkey on croissant followed by a scrumptious fudge topped sundae made with famous Steiningers homemade chocolate. (854-3830)

***GOOD NEWS! Jacob won an award at LARAC's "Realism vs Abstraction" Juried Exhibit at Lapham Gallery in Glens Falls for his painting entitled, "Lovable  Vermont".  The show was judged by guest juror Elizabeth Dubben of Saratoga Arts.

John Legere, CEO of T Mobile, is well known for his crazy antics on a Facebook show called "Slow Cooker Sunday" which he posts every Sunday no matter where in the world he is.  Jacob has admired John's business acumen as well as his high energy personality for several years.  John even has one of Jake's paintings hanging in his home in Seattle where T Mobile is headquartered.

Recently, John invited Jake to be part of his show, filmed at his new home in Naples, Florida.  Houston's family friend, Dave Carey (#2 man at T Mobile), filmed the show and added comments with John throwing many plugs for Jake's art as he proceeded with putting together his slow cooker dish.  Over 5 million people had viewed the show within 48 hours.  Jacob was ecstatic as he later spoke of this fantastic visit where he was able to chat with John Legere at length and to see his new mansion.  It is a day he won't soon forget.

If you would like to see the video, it is on Facebook under "John Legere" (scroll down to January 19th Slow Cooker Sunday).

At his high school graduation in June 2011, Jake was honored to receive the Grace Griffis Scholarship.  The scholarship is given in memory of Grace, was who was an incredible person and a very gifted artist before her untimely death. Grace's sister, Mackenzie, and her business partner, Kate, have written a wonderful article about the scholarship on their website, "The Official Meatbagz Blog". And thank you so much, Kate and Mackenzie!

"Rural Rhythm" opened on Saturday, September 28th, at 96 Broad Street in Schuylerville, NY.  The exhibit ran through October 27, 2019, and  featured the work of Ann Larsen, Clarence King, Jacob Houston, Jill Fishon-Kovachick, Kate Edwards, Leslie Peck, and Mikel Wintermantel.
